Zohar Tal Inbar
Studied painting with Eli Shamir, graduated with a BFA from Haifa University and a master’s degree from the Jerusalem Studio School- JSS with Israel Hershberg. Had a solo exhibition at The Yigal Allon Center and in Kiryat Tivon and participated in group exhibitions at Maya Gallery TLV, Rothschild Fine Art Gallery- TLV, and is about to participate a group exhibition at MEAM Barcelona, Tal Inbar paints figurative still life, portraits and landscape as she searches for geometry, composition, balance on the canvas and tonal harmony. In her eyes, the geometry particular to each person-landscape-object is its story, and so, if she accurately portrays geometry and tone, the painting’s subject will be portrayed in its precise appearance and mental state. In the series “Arms of Beauty”, Tal Inbar touches on the relationship between militarism and religion, addressing PTSD and depicting soldiers as martyrs. This series relies on classical painting traditions and themes such as Greek mythology and Christianity. Tal Inbar employs her ability to create aesthetically pleasing images to raise complex questions regarding the rearing of children as future soldiers and her own place within that process. In her work, she regards family ties as a source of healing.
